- Complete
Source Code
- The
complete source code of ACM is at your
fingertips. Tinker and explore the world
of flight simulation as you never have
been able to before.
- Multiplayer
Aerial Combat
- ACM for
windows is a true distributed simulation.
No central server is required. All
applications communicate position
information via Microsoft's DirectPlay or
UDP broadcasts. This information allows
players to "see" one another in
a common environment.

ACM provides
realistic modeling of radar, weapons, and
aircraft systems

- Distributed
Interactive Simulation Support
- ACM's
network communication protocol is the IEEE 1278
"Distributed Interactive Simulation"
(DIS) standard. This definition allows different
simulation applications to engage each other in a
common virtual world.
-
- High
Fidelity Flight Simulation Model
- Yeah,
right .. doesn't every simulator on the planet
claim to have this? The heart of ACM is a
six-degree of freedom model. Aircraft performance
is characterized using NACA-standard derivatives.
While you are taxiing, the effects of landing
gear tires, struts, and shocks are accounted for,
too.
-
- Joystick
Support
- We
support just about any Windows-compatible
joystick and provide configuration files for many
Thrustmaster(tm) Flight control sticks and
throttles.

Source
Code? Are you nuts?
Software
vendors traditionally shy away from distributing the
source code. Often there are good reasons not to do this
-- beyond just having code that's a bit sloppy. We feel
ACM for Windows is a special situation.
The
world of flight simulation buffs is packed with some very
technical people. People that have been rummaging around
in the guts of their favorite simulators for a long time
-- lacking source code limits the experience, though.
We're pretty sure that many of those people may be ready
to explore something deeper and that's why ACM for
Windows is available as source code.
